Gujarat - a Melting Pot

atest excavations suggest of a civilization prior to 7500 BC near Gujarat coast. Gujarat has since ancient times witnessed meetings of different civilizations and cultures. Gujarat today is the melting pot of people of different ethnicities and varied lifestyles. The distinct architecture of monuments is a rare blend known as Indo-Saracenic. The art forms, clothing and dialects change rapidly as one travels in Gujarat. Each place seems to be set in a different time frame altogether. Even the wildlife here is completely unique found nowhere else. The contrasts of landscape, culture, people, architecture and art found in Gujarat is to be seen to believe. 

  • Day 01: New Delhi: Welcome to India. Evening sound and light show at Red Fort.
     
  • Day 02: New Delhi: Daylong sightseeing of Old Delhi (Shahajahanabad) and Lutyen’s Delhi (New Delhi). Evening free to shop around busy Connaught Place.
     
  • Day 03: Jaipur: Drive to Jaipur and check in at your hotel. Later sightseeing of the City Palace Complex and Amber Fort.
     
  • Enjoy your evening cup of tea/coffee on the terrace of Shiv Niwas Palace, Udaipur, to the haunting strains of Indian classical music, as you see a boat making its way on Lake Pichhola to the breathtaking Lake Palace.Day 04: Udaipur: In the morning drive to Udaipur-the Lake City. Trip to Shilp Gram arts and crafts village. Sunset boat trip over Lake Pichhola.
      
  • Day 05: Udaipur: Sightseeing of the city and shopping in the local bazaars. Visit Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal for Rajasthani dance performances. Optional dinner at the opulent Shiv Niwas Palace.
     
  • Day 06: Ahmedabad: Driving through the state of Gujarat reach Ahmedabad. In the sightseeing tour of the city visit several beautiful monuments built in Indo Saracenic style notable being the Sidi Saiyad Mosque. AlsNal Sarovar Sanctuary.o visit Mahatma Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram.
     
  • Day 07: Ahmedabad: Day to be used in excursions to Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary (where thousands of migratory and indigenous water-birds congregate in winter) and Adalaj Vav (One of the most beautiful and ornate stepwells of Gujarat).
     
  • Day 08: Little Rann: Drive through exotic scenery of rural Gujarat and reach at what is one of the most striking landscapes on earth, the saline wilderness of the Little Rann of Kutchh. The Rann is the last home to highly endangered Asiatic Wild Ass. After checking in visit the interesting village of Dasada and its residents who experts in various arts. 
      
  • Day 09: Little Rann: Jeep safari in theAsiatic Wild Ass vast expanses of The Little Rann of Kutchh National Park to see the Asiatic Wild Ass that survives in severely harsh environment of Rann. The Park has a range of other wild animals and birds as well.
     
  • Day 10: Bhuj: Drive through several interesting villages and towns famous for their excellent variety of handicrafts, textile prints and embroidery. Reach Bhuj – the heartland of unique landscape known as Kutchh peninsula.
     
  • Day 11: Bhuj: Explore this wonderful remote town encircled by formidable walls. Bhuj has a maze of tightly packed winding lanes, palaces with incredible interiors and bustling colorful markets.   • Day 12: Bhuj: Day to be used in visiting a few villages south of Bhuj to see local crafts being made or excursion to pristine beaches of Mandvi.
     
  • Day 13: Wankaner: Driving out of the Kutchh reach Wankaner, a pleasant little town with a striking palace visible from miles away. The Royal palace has a mix of several architectural styles of the world and is still inhabited by the royal family. This palace of museum- like collections shall be your place of stay. In your free time you may have an excursion to the interesting town of Morvi
     
  • Day 14: Sasan Gir: Drive soutArts 'n' crafts of Kutch.hwards through Kathiawar Peninsula and reach Sasan Gir National Park. Rest of the day free at your discretion.
     
  • Day 15: Sasan Gir: Take morning and afternoon guided jeep safaris through jungles of Gir. Sasan Gir National Park is last remaining home to Asiatic Lion species. 
     
  • Day 16: Diu: Reach to the fascinating little island of Diu, erstwhile Portuguese colony. Day to be spent in the relaxed atmosphere of Diu and its pristine beaches. 
     
  • Day 17: Bhavnagar: Visiting the extraordinary place Alang as World’s largest ship breaking site reach Bhavnagar. Keep rest of your day at leisure.
     
  • Day 18: Bhavnagar: A group of 863 beautiful jain temples. Take an excursion to Palitana. Ascending the Shatrunjaya Hill on foot you’ll find a group of 863 beautiful Jain temples. The high climb is a rewarding experience as the place has a strong spiritual atmosphere as well as the place offers fine views all around. 
     
  • Day 19: Mumbai: Take flight to Mumbai, the commercial capital of India and on arrival check in. Half day trip to Elephanta cave island for astonishing ancient sculptures. Rest of the day free for leisure. 
     
  • Day 20: Mumbai: During the day visit notable attractions of the city which includes Dhobi Ghat, Crawford market, Marine drive and old mansions of Colaba area. The appropriate time transfer to airport to make you board your onward flight.
