he sheer height and spread of
Himalayas makes it the crown of India. From saints to colonialists, Himalayas
have inspired and influenced all. Out of innumerable beautiful Himalayan
destinations, a few have been included in this trip. The experience to be in
the lap of Himalayas is both adventurous and divine. Not limited to the hills, Himalayas are responsible for making
India fertile and making India's civilization happen. Such is the majesty of
Himalayas.
- Day01: New Delhi: Welcome in India. Evening sound
and light show at Red Fort.
- Day02: New Delhi: Daylong sightseeing of Old Delhi (Shahajahanabad) and Lutyen's Delhi (New Delhi). Evening free to shop around
busy Connaught Place.
- Day03: Shimla: Board the Himalayan Queen Express to
Kalka and thereafter board the narrow gauge train to Shimla which passes
through beautiful scenery and long tunnels. At Shimla, evening free to walk
over the Mall which still reflects the lifestyle in the period of Raj.
- Day04: Shimla: Visit a few Colonial mansions
including the Indian Institute of advanced studies. Suggested treks in the pine forests.

- Day05: Shimla: Day at leisure. Optional excursions
to Chail, Kufri or Narkanda.
- Day06: Taragarh: Drive through forested Shivalik
ranges of Himalayas and crossing the beautiful meadows and tea gardens of Palampur, reach
Taragarh. Stay will be in Taragarh palace owned by the Maharaja
of Kashmir, having beautiful interiors and stunning backdrop of snow capped
peaks.
- Day07: Taragarh: Explore the beautiful landscape or
take an excursion to Baijnath temple or Andretta (a village associated with
some renowned artists).

- Day08: Dharamshala: Journey a small section of
spectacular Pathankot - Jogindernagar toy train from Palampur to Kangra valley
stations. At Kangra, joined by vehicle and transfer to Dharamshala - place of
Tibetan government in exile. Day free at leisure.
- Day09: Dharamshala: Visit Tibetan settlements,
places of worships, Namgyal Monastery, learning centers and craft centers. Also visit the church of St.
John-in-the-Wilderness nearby. If lucky,
get an opportunity to meet His Holiness Dalai Lama.
- Day10: Amritsar: Move down to the fertile plains of
Punjab and reach the Mecca of Sikh faith - Amritsar. Day at leisure.
- Day11: Departure: Visit the Golden temple and
several holy places surrounding it. Also visit Jalianwala Bagh. At noon, board the Shatabdi Express back to
New Delhi. At Delhi transfer to airport at appropriate time for return flight.
