India has forever been a great marketplace; the idea of commerce being central to several Indian religions and communities. Almost every village has its own perfected art-form which ultimately reaches for selling in the nearest important market-town. Apart from providing an insight into some of the most beautiful cities and towns of India, this tour also tries to convince you why they are a shopper’s delight. Indians have been traditionally known for making best use of the nature around them.

Day 01 New Delhi

Welcome to India. Day free to either relax or to visit some of the prominent landmarks with your car and driver.

Day 02 New Delhi

Day to be utilized in exploring several shopping options in Delhi- State Emporiums near Cannaught Place, exotic handmade products at Dilli Haat, designer boutiques at Hauz Khas and traditional wedding market at Kinari Bazaar.

Day 03 Kolkata:

Fly to Kolkata, east India’s largest marketplace. Tour of the city would include visiting marketplaces famous for cotton handwoven sarees, silk saris (from Varanasi, Murshidabad and Orissa), jute craft and crafts of North-East India.

Day 04 Kolkata

Apart from city sightseeing, day will also be utilized in visiting a few art galleries, auction houses near Park Street and designer shops.

Day 05 Jaipur:

Fly to Jaipur, in Jaipur, excursion to nearby villages of Sanganer, Bagru, Mahlan, Nayla and Jahota to see actual craftsmanship being done on works like textile printing, furniture making, blue pottery, aari-taari and carpet weaving.

Day 06 Jaipur

Day sightseeing of the City Palace Complex and Amber Fort followed by visiting peoples and workshops traditionally involved in Jaipur’s famous gems and jewelry work. Evening walk in the Pink City to shop in its colorful bazaars.

Day 07 Jaipur

Morning walking tour of some interesting streets and squares of the Pink City to catch glimpses of the habitual patterns of its people which even includes attending heart-rending prayers at Sri Govind Devji Temple. During the day visit some of the famous designer shops and boutiques of Jaipur.

Day 08 Jodhpur

A Drive to Jodhpur. Visit Jodhpur City, its majestic Mehrangarh Fort and its colorful bazaars.

Day 09 Jodhpur

Visit Jodhpur’s famous antique shops and designer houses. Jodhpur is also famous for wooden furniture, tie and dye work and items related to high lifestyle. You may also get stitched the Jodhpur suits and breeches popularly known as Jodhpurs.

Day 10 Udaipur

Drive to Udaipur visiting Ranakpur temples on the way. Stop enroute to visit villages of durries-weavers and shoemakers. In Udaipur take sunset boat trip over Lake Pichhola.

Day 11 Udaipur

Sightseeing of the city and shopping in the local bazaars. Udaipur is famous for miniature painting artistry, wooden toys and silver works. Optional excursion to Nathdwara town for Pichhwai miniatures.

Day 12 Ahmedabad

Drive to Ahmedabad and visit old quarters of the city which has many famous crafts to its credit. Ahmedabad is particularly famous for textile crafts and it houses outlets of several village & women self-help groups.

Day 13 Ahmedabad

Visit the unique Calico Textile Museum during the day. Sightseeing of city’s monuments and Adalaj Vav stepwell follows later.

Day 14 Bhuj

Drive to Bhuj the heartland of unique landscape known as Kutch peninsula. Visit several monuments of old city. Explore this wonderful remote town encircled by formidable walls. Bhuj has a maze of tightly packed winding lanes, palaces with incredible interiors and bustling colorful markets.

Day 15 Hodka village near Bhuj

Drive through several interesting villages famous for their excellent variety of handicrafts, textile prints and embroidery. Stay in an ethnic resort in a beautiful village.

Day 16 Bhuj

Return to Bhuj. Day to be used in visiting a few villages south of Bhuj to see local crafts being made or excursion to pristine beaches of Mandvi.

Day 17 Mumbai

Reach Mumbai by flight at around noon. Visit notable attractions of the city which includes Dhobi Ghat, Crawford Market, Marine drive and old mansions of Colaba area.

Day 18 Mumbai

Day to be used for shopping or for a visit to Elephanta Caves if time permits. Shopping in Mumbai can be a great fun due to impressive line-up of designer shops. The antiques and curios from the city make good choice. If Friday, you may visit Mutton Street popularly known as ‘chor bazaar’.

Day 19 Hyderabad

Fly to Hyderabad – City of Pearls. Day to be used in visiting the bustling bazaars around the famed Charminar. From bangles to pearls, the city has it all.

Day 20 Hyderabad

Sightseeing of the city includes visiting various palaces, monuments and museums. The city is also famous for its street food bazaars- not to be missed are ‘Irani chai’ and ‘Biryani’.

Day 21 Mysore

Fly to Bangalore and then transfer to Mysore. Visit the magnificent Mysore Palace and the Brindavan Gardens.

Day 22 Chennai

In the morning visit the colorful Devaraja Urs Market where everything from tons of flowers to silk saris is up for sale. During the day visit shops selling Mysore’s famous silk products, sandalwood items and rosewood crafts. In the evening transfer to Chennai by Shatabdi Express train. Transfer to hotel in Chennai.

Day 23 Chennai

City sightseeing of famous monuments and bazaars. Also visit the bustling T-Nagar market. While visiting Kapaleeshwar temple, visit Mylapore area as well. The area has a distinct traditional charm, there are shops here selling Indian musical instruments.

Day 24 Chennai

Excursion to Kanchipuram (the city of thousand temples is famous for silk sari weaving, a style known as Kanjeevarom) and Mahabalipuram (Famous for Pallava dynasty era carved temples on the shore and stone sculptures. The place is also famous for stone carvers who sell sculptures made of granite). You will also find several wooden furniture shops on the road to Pondicherry.

Day 25 Kochi

Fly to Kochi, a perfect relaxing place to end your tour. The Fort Kochi area around your idyllic hotel is hugely interesting for walks and shopping. Visit the Jew Town Market which has some of India’s best shops selling antiques, curios and perfumes. Also, walk through the ancient spice market, nowhere else you may find exotic spices of such quality and quantity!

Day 26 Kochi

Excursion to Alleppey for daylong cruise on boat over the backwaters. Relish authentic Kerala cuisine in one of the backwater resorts.

Day 27 Kochi

Day free to relax. In the evening watch Kathakali Classical dance performance which is notable for its elaborate makeup procedure.

Day 28 Departure

Transfer to airport at appropriate time for departure flight. Tour ends.
